Cafe 50: Pork Tenderloin with Tabbouleh

In many of the cafes around campus, Microsoft has what’s called the “Chef’s Table.” The sauce work and flavor of the sauces is always a highlight.

Today’s menu had a Pork Tenderloin with Tabbouleh and an Italian White Wine Vinaigrette. The tabbouleh tasted fresh, with onion and parsley providing pops of flavor. The pork tenderloin was slightly dry on the outside, but still moist on the inside. The vinaigrette punched through with flavor complementing everything very well. The salad was earthy, and the acid from the vinaigrette provided a musical composition in the mouth.

The asparagus was there too. It was good. I’m just not a fan of asparagus.

If I had to describe this dish in two words, it would be herbaceous and acidic.

At $11 for the dish, I’m questioning if I’d get it again. There’s 2 small pork medallions. Safeway has 1.5 pounds of pork tenderloin for the same cost.

The quality and presentation is in the plate. I just feel they could be a bit more generous with the serving size. I was still hungry after eating my lunch.

There’s some empty space in the bowl. Other Chef’s Table dishes fill up more of the plate.

Overall enjoyable, but I needed a post-lunch snack.
